An Ode to Shah Karim GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION
 In Islam, poetry has historically been a major pathway for mu'mins to express their love and gratitude to Allah, the Prophets and the Imams. From the very beginning poetry has been central to the spiritual life of Muslims, particularly in the Shi'i interpretation of Islam. During the Fatimid era prominent Da'is such as Al Mu'ayyad fi'l-din al Shirazi wrote numerous couplets and odes expressing affection to Imam e Zamaan.
Aly Sunderji, a culinary artist, poet and vocalist, and the author of, A Spirit to be Reckoned with, has written numerous poems and geets in praise of Mawlana Hazar Imam. Aly's vision was to create a robust yet timeless compilation of vibrant new music mixed with fresh sounds and youthful voices reciting the words that he has written in devotion to Imam az-Zaman. Aly was further inspired to share his poetry with the Jamat, after he had the honor of being in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam in Karachi, Pakistan in 2006.
The result was An ode to Shah Karim.... a compilation of spoken word poetry of anticipation, ecstasy and the longing for spiritual enlightement. This album is a joint effort of over forty Ismaili youth aritists from diverse professional backgrounds, cultures, and countries, commemorating this historical occasion of the Golden Jubilee. All the artists whose words, voices, music and translations appear in this work of mystical poetry, are Ismaili youths.
From far and wide across Canada and internationally, these young voices and instrumentalists come together in this exuberant, bright and fresh burst of melodies and voices. In An ode to Shah Karim, toghether with Aly, they all present to the Jamat their expresions of delight, craving, and jubilation in celebrating half a century of glorious Imamah of our beloved Mawlana Shah Karim al-Hussaini Hazar Imam.

Born and raised in Tanzania, Nadir moved to Edmonton, Canada in 1977 and shortly after started the Pearl Band. He has entertained Jamats worldwide and has performed with several renowned musicians and singers. In the early 1980's he formed the musical group Saaz-e-Mehfil, which has performed in a variety of musical, ghazal and geet programs. Nadir composed many of the lyrics to the Silver Jubilee Geet CD entitled Shan-E-Karim #19. In 1992, he had the honor of reciting Ginan in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam and considers it one of the highlights of his life. Nadir and the Pearl Band were invited to perform in Kenya during the Golden Jubilee Darbar celebrations in August 2007. Nadir's signature geet Ee Haalo has been a favorite in the Jamats world-wide and has inspired the title of this Golden Jubilee CD. Ee Haalo is an invitation to the historic occasion of Mawlana Hazar Imam's Golden Jubilee. It is also an expression of love and gratitude for our Imam's continued guidance and love for the Jamat over the last 50 years. Nadir acknowledges his family for always being by his side as he pursued his musical interests and to Alkarim Samji whose tremendous support and encouragment has been a source of inspiration behind the production of this CD. Khushi Mein Jhoom GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION 
By: Nizar Damji "Khushi Mein Jhoom" expresses Nizar Damji's immense joy and happiness during this time of jubilation and celebration of Mawlana Hazar Imam's Golden Jubilee. Nizar shares this musical contribution with the Jamat during this historical occassion, and hopes the Jamat will enjoy this musical and lyrical expression of dedication, devotion and love for the Imam. Born in Tanzania, Nizar Damji, has been singing since his childhood. He is well known internationally as a singer and musician, and is popularly known as Nizar & Party. He has performed many tours, including performances in East and Central Africa, England, Europe, Spain, USA, India, Pakistan and Canada. Nizar has released numerous song and devotional geet albums, which have been popularly received by Jamats around the world, including Payam-e-Aqidat which was released during the Silver Jubilee and later on Nazrana-e-Aqidat. His concerts have also contributed to numerous local, national and international charitable organizations. He has shared the stage with many singers and actors, including Hemant Kumar, Dilip Kumar and Ghulam Ali and performed in the presence of other dignitaries. Nizar was the pioneer, producer and director of South Asian TV Shows in B.C. He also produced documentaries on the culture and people of Gilgit, Hunza, Chitral, Kailash Valley, Sikh religious places including Nanakana Sahib, Panja Sahib, Shrine of Guru Arjan Dev ji and Samadhi of Maharaja Ranjit Singh all in Pakistan and on various other religious and cultural traditions. Nizar has had the honor and privilege of performing twice in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam in Kisumu, Kenya and Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, and once for Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan in Dar-es-Salaam. Sunhera Tohfa GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION
"Sunehra Tohfa" simply means "Golden Gift". Over the last fifty years, Mawlana Hazar Imam has dedicated his life to uplift, inspire and guide us. Through "Sunehra Tohfa", Karim and Afroza Vellani pay tribute to Mawlana Hazar Imam's gererocity, guidance and leadership both, to our jamat and to the world at large.
Afroza (TJ) Vellani has released a number of albums and has been performing for over twenty years to sold out audiences. Together with her husband Karim Vellani, she performed at the recent celebrations during Mawlana Hazar Imam's visit to U.K. This is Afroza's first geet album inspired by Golden Jubilee.
Karim Vellani has been performing for our Jamat for over thirty years. He has produced and released more than twenty albums including Raas, Tarif e Imam, We are One, Share the Vision and Geeton Ka Khazana. Karim and his wife Afroza, have also organized and arranged several musical concerts throughout North America and internationally. Karim has written, composed, arranged, played, recorded, mixed, mastered and produced this project.
Philip Patric is a prominent member of the famous "Soulbeats" group of Toronto and together withAfroza & Karim, form the core of the "Soulbeats" group. A multi-talented individual, Philip has contributed immensely to this project with his writing, composing and singing skills and has also assisted in the mixing of "Sunehra Tohfa."
This album is dedicated to Mawlana Hazar Imam in the hope that it will evoke happiness, joy and elation in you hearts for many decades to come.

The notion of Shukriya, or "Gratitude" as a title to this CD, was inspired by the emotionally charged inauguration ceremony of Mawlana Hazar Imam's Golden Jubilee year on July 11th, 2007. This day stirred a deep sense of love and gratitude towards Hazar Imam for all that he has done and continues to do for Ismailis and the world at large. The album's first track, also entitles Shukriya, poses the question, "How will I thank you?" The answer lies in the final track, Waqt Aur Ilm. Zahira Dhalwani began her musical journey at the age of 6 in Mwanza, Tanzania inspired by her father Shiraz Dhalwani, who played the keyboard and accordion at various community and external events. With his guidance, she learnt to play the keyboard and performed alongside him. This father-daughter team continued their passion for music and are still performing together. With Allah's grace, Zahira has been privileged with some memorable performances which include Izhaar-e-Aquidat alongside Kamal Taj in Ottawa; Golden Jubilee Celebrations Sonehri Shaam in Ottawa and Toronto; and Canadian Golden Jubilee Geed CD entitled Mubarak alongside Mehboob and Irfaan Manji.
